Organisations order uniforms on a cycle \u2014 a new intake, a rebrand, the start of a financial year \u2014 and the order usually has a date attached that cannot move. Which makes choosing a manufacturer less about price than most buyers expect, and more about whether the factory can be relied upon.<\/p>\n

Three things worth weighing.<\/p>\n

1. Delivering on time, repeatedly<\/h2>\n

A uniform delivered late is often worse than no uniform at all, because the date it was needed for has passed. Ask a prospective manufacturer not whether they deliver on time \u2014 everyone says yes \u2014 but what they do when something goes wrong. A fabric arrives off-shade, a machine fails, a shipment is delayed. Factories that hit their dates consistently are the ones that planned for those scenarios before they happened.<\/p>\n

Capacity across more than one site helps here too. It means a problem at one facility does not automatically become your problem.<\/p>\n

2. Accountability, and what happens after delivery<\/h2>\n

The second thing to test is how a manufacturer communicates when there is bad news. A supplier who tells you early that a delivery will slip by a week is far more valuable than one who tells you on the day.<\/p>\n

Environmental responsibility belongs in the same category \u2014 increasingly it is your customers asking, not just you. Look for concrete measures rather than statements: water reuse, caustic recovery, a wastewater treatment plant that actually exists on site.<\/p>\n

3. Verifiable international standards<\/h2>\n

For anything that will be worn by staff, or sold on, quality needs to be demonstrable rather than asserted. That means independent certification and test reports you can read \u2014 not a claim on a website.<\/p>\n
